FLORENCE - Amy Arlene Doll McCain, 71, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
She was born in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian Brown Doll. She graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a degree in education and was an educator for several years. She also worked as the manager of the Peanut Shack in the Magnolia Mall in Florence, SC. As a former member of Southside Baptist Church, she enjoyed using her voice to sing praise to the Lord in the church choir and taught Sunday School for many years. Amy was most recently a member of Tans Bay Baptist Church. She also served as a leader in the TOPS chapter in Florence. Amy will be remembered by loved ones for her love, compassion, and thoughtfulness shown through her handmade cards and service to others even until the end of her life.
Amy was preceded in death by her husband, A. J. “Sonny” McCain, Jr., to whom she was faithful and devoted to until his final day.
She is survived by her uncle, Milford “Pete” Brown (Amy) of Russellville, Alabama; longtime neighbors, Gerald and Geraldine Green, and close friends, Gwen Patterson of Georgia and Mona Timmons of Florence, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Tans Bay Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Tans Bay Baptist Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or the Shriners' Hospital.
