Andrew “Andy” Charles Harrell, 70, passed on Friday, February 28, 2025, at his residence in Florence.
Andy was born in Florence, one of five children born to the late Dan Harrell and Rosia Kersey Lane. The last surviving sibling, Andy was predeceased by his brother, Randy Harrell and three sisters, Judy Gibbs, Linda Gerald, and Ellen Harrell.
He retired from Tommy’s Wholesale Florist, where he was a Sales Representative for over 35 years. During those thirty-five years, he was the Salesman of the Year for numerous years. Andy was an active member of the South Carolina Florist Association and one of the Board of Directors for The Midlands Florist Association. Every year for Career Day and Mother’s Day at his children's schools, he would educate their classmates on the florist industry and send every student home with flowers for their loved ones. From playing hours of racquetball, fishing in a little john boat on Black Creek, to soaking up the sun on the golf course, and teaching his children to drive on some back country road, Andy’s legacy he leaves behind is that it does not cost a dime to show up for your children; at every sporting event, dance recital, awards event, graduation, and even just the occasional lunch together at school.
He is survived by his son, Andrew “Drew” Charles Harrell ll of Florence; his daughter, Amanda Harrell Williams (Bradley) of Darlington; his grandson, Roger Harrell, of Florence; and a number of other family members along with nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service.
