FLORENCE Anthony Morganti, 90, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Southland Healthcare Center where he had resided for the past 2 years.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Florence Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Joseph Heck officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
Mr. Morganti was born in Rochester, NY, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Galusha Morganti. He was a combat veteran of World War II, having served as a gunner in an Armored Tank Division of the Army-Air Corps. He was a retired service manager from the McDonald Company (Columbia, SC).
He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Susan Parker Morganti, on Dec. 8, 2014. He was also predeceased by a son, Kenneth Alan Morganti, and three sisters, Grace Gordon, Rose Nixon, and Annette Mutolo.
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Dianne) Morganti and Steve (Angie) Morganti, both of Florence; two brothers, Frank Morganti of Jupiter, FL, and Arthur Morganti of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Michael Morganti of Charleston and Kelli M. (Bryan) Kaye of Florence; and three great-grandchildren, Brooke Morganti, Alexa Kaye and Landon Kaye.
