Billie Faye Pickett, 87, died Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her home after an extended illness.
Faye was born in Florence, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Leila Elizabeth Broach McKissick and George W. McKissick. She was a supervisor with Electro-Motive Manufacturing and General Electric in Florence.
She attended the Palmetto Street Church of God at its original location near Church Street. Faye loved flowers, gardening, and riding motorcycles with her late husband. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and spent many hours volunteering with the organization.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jon Owen Pickett; a daughter, Elizabeth Broach Little; two sisters, Sandra Welch and Virginia Dale Richburg; and a brother, Buck McKissick.
Survivors include her daughter, Genise Broach Calcutt (Ron) of Darlington; three sons, Silas Eugene Broach (Denise) of Florence, Hamer Legrande Broach (Peggy) of Mooresville, NC, and Jack Mervin Watkins, Jr. (Susie) of Dovesville, SC; eight grandchildren, Ronald Laverne “Trey” Calcutt, Jr. (Beth), Hamer Lee Calcutt (Elizabeth), William Eugene Broach, Kristan M. Donohue, Amber Broach Smith (Spencer), Maggie Caroline Broach, Jessica Nicole Arrington Whitlock, and Katlyn Elizabeth Little; eight great-grandchildren, Ronald Lander Calcutt, Mary Katherine Calcutt, Margaret Grace Smith, Stafford Lewis Smith, James Robert Whitlock II (Jaime), Ryker Matthew Whitlock, Emma Grace Whitlock, Lyrik Elizabeth Isaac, and Karter Jude Bines; a sister, Mamie Purvis, of Florence; a brother, Mike Welch, of Sumter, SC; a number of nieces and nephews; and her beloved chihuahua, Meka.
The family will receive friends through Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Faye’s residence. A private service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to recognize VIA Health Partners Hospice and staff with a special thanks to Carol Ann Bryant, RN, Opal Ponds, CNA, and Molly Hawkins, Branch Manager, and to all her caregivers, especially Marie Calcutt Burdick.
