Charles Robert Baugham, III

         FLORENCE, SC – Charles Robert Baugham, III, died Friday, August 9, 2024, after a brief illness.

         Charlie was born in Rome, Georgia, the only son of the late Charles Robert, Jr., and Lois Katheryn Oldham Baugham.  He earned a bachelor’s degree and Masters of Arts in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  In 1974, he joined the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Washington, DC, as a trainee.  After years of service as an agent and many locations, including San Jose, CA, Honolulu, HI, Santa Rosa, CA, Charlotte, NC, and Atlanta, GA, he retired as a manager.  He relocated to Florence, SC, in 2013 after his retirement.

         In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his only sister, Martha Elizabeth Baugham Meshaw; and two nephews.

         He is survived by a nephew, Steven Charles Meshaw (Patti) of Burgaw, NC; and many lifelong friends.

         The family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.
