FLORENCE Charles Marshall Schofield, 70, died Monday, July 13, 2015, in a local hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, at St. Johns Church. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
He was born in Florence, a son of the late Charles Stikeleather and Elizabeth Cooke Schofield. He graduated from Carlisle Military School in 1963 and served his country in the United States Navy. He earned his bachelors degree from Francis Marion University in 1972. He was the owner of Carolina Supply House in Florence.
Marshall was a lifelong member of St. Johns Church. He was also a member of Florence Day Lions Club and served as a South Carolina State Constable for over forty years.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Green Schofield of the home; a son, Kenneth (Christina) Yates of Sardis, SC; a daughter, Kistler Schofield (David) Campbell of Florence; a brother, James (Martha) Schofield of Florence; two grandchildren, Marshall Schofield Campbell and Elizabeth Grace Campbell, of Florence; a niece, Elizabeth Schofield, and nephew, William Schofield, and his daughter, Haleigh Schofield, all of Florence.
