Charles David Thomas, Sr.

FLORENCE Charles David Thomas, Sr., 75, died Friday, May 20, 2016, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Monday, May 23, 2016, in the Chapel of Waters-Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

He was born in Hebron, SC, a son of the late Henry and Helen Thomas. He was a dedicated employee of Cayce Company of Florence for 45 years.

Mr. Thomas was a member of First Baptist Church and the John Davis Sunday School Class. He also helped with Vacation Bible School and the music arts.

Survivors include his wife, Rose E. Thomas, of the home; a daughter, Kathryn T. Pace, of Asheville, NC; a son, Charles David Thomas, Jr., (fianc, Michelle Brown) of Florence; four grandchildren, Tyler Thomas and Beth Thomas, both of Florence, Kelly Munn of Lake City, and Jessica Hatchell of Asheville, NC; a brother, James Henry Thomas, of Scranton; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Kay; and a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jerry Huggins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday, at the funeral home.
