At the age of sixteen, he was in Boy Scouts and the National Guard at the same time. He joined the Army and later found out you could make $50.00 extra a month if you were a paratrooper. He then started a family and got out of the active military and worked at Nucor steel as a mechanical engineer. He also worked at A.O. Smith, a water heater factory and spent eleven months in China building a water heater factory. He served most of his military time in the National Guard and his unit was called up and he served in Desert Storm at the age of 53 in the 132nd MP. He completed twenty one and a half years in the military. He then went to work at Kings Bay as a Security officer and made some really close friends. Until his health became an issue he really enjoyed playing golf at Trident Lakes golf course. Hole 16 was his favorite. But, something he enjoyed more was his family and all the friends he made and some will be meeting him in his heavenly home.
