FLORENCE Dean Ronald Batlis, 60, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, in a local hospital after a sudden illness.
Mr. Batlis was born in Riverside, New Jersey, a son of the late Benjamin and Regina Bachman Batlis. Formerly of New Jersey and Maine, he was a resident of Florence since 2008. He served in the Army National Guard and was a security guard with Securitas Security Service.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Batlis, of Florence; four children, Deborah Batlis of Waldoborro, Maine, Dean (Rachel) Batlis, Jr., and his children Dean, III, and Lea, all of Washington, Maine, Dee Batlis of Florence, and Denise Batlis, and her son, Dominick, both of Florence. He is also survived by two sisters, Dawn Bizzarro of Boca Raton, FL, and Diane Doyle of Merrimack, NH; niece, Lisa Doyle, also of Merrimack, NH; and two nephews, Matt (Jennifer) Bizzaro of New York City, NY, and Brian (Kelly) Bizzarro of Boynton Beach, FL.
Private services will be held at a later date.
