Derick Glenn Nichols

          FLORENCE – Derick Glenn Nichols, 42, died Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024, after an illness.

          Derick was born in Florence, SC, a son of Tamra Johnson Nichols and the late William Tobin Nichols, Sr.  He graduated from South Florence High School and was employed with IFA Food Distributors for many years.  He also worked for QVC for a time.

          Derick loved being outdoors, especially fishing, boating and skiing.

          In addition to his mother, Tammy J. Nichols of Florence, he is survived by two daughters, Kaylyn and Kiera Nichols, both of Ridgeland, SC; a sister, Allison J. Rhodes of Green Cove Springs, FL; his grandmother, Ann Nichols, of Florence; his aunt, Sheila J. McHugh of Raleigh, NC; a cousin, Angela L. Polk, of Florence; and many extended family members.

          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to offset final expenses to Waters-Powell Funeral Home, 400 S. Dargan St., Florence, SC  29506.
