Dixie Jo Price

FLORENCE Dixie Jo Granger Price, 79, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Elim Baptist Church, Effingham, SC, with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born in Tabor City, NC, a daughter of the late Keifer and Nell Soles Granger. She graduated from McLeod School of Nursing in 1957, and was a registered nurse at McLeod Hospital, Bruce Hospital, and Stone Container for a number of years. Ms. Price was a member of Elim Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Price Harrison (Doug) of Columbia; two sons, Del Price (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, and Brett Price (Tammy) of Effingham; two sisters, Judy Fort (Chuck) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Pree Christensen of Conover, NC; and five grandchildren, William Carter Anderson, Madison Harrison, Turner Harrison, Dylan Price, and Dalton Price.

She was predeceased by a brother, Bub Granger; and a sister, Pinetta Ward.

Memorials may be made for nursing scholarships to FDTC Educational Foundation, P. O. Box 100548, Florence, SC 29502.
