Doug Hill

          FLORENCE – Rupert Douglas “Doug” Hill, 76, died Tuesday, January 16, 2024, after an illness.

          Doug was born in Goldsboro, NC, a son of the late Tessie R. Lewis and Rupert Lee Hill.  He graduated from Seven Springs High School (NC) in 1965.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  A long-time resident of Quinby, Doug was a long-distance truck driver.  He owned his own company for many years, but most recently worked with Eagle Transportation and Mercer Transportation.

          He is survived by his two sons, Kevin Douglas Hill, of Dillon, SC, and Brian James Hill, of Florence; and their mother, Barbara R. Hill, also of Florence.

          The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence.  A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs, NC.
