Edith Clark Obituary

Edith Sis Godwin Clark, 78, passed away Friday March 20th, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, SC. She was born in Scranton, SC to parents Rembert Hoyt Godwin and Mary Alice Powell Godwin.

Mrs. Clark owned Service Station Equipment & Servicing Co. with her late husband Aaron L. Clark. Aaron and Edith had their first date at the drive-in movie theater across from Schofield Hardware in Florence. She retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of SC and later worked with H&R Block for fun. She was a skilled mathematician, who also loved puzzles, word search, and other brain teasers. Mrs. Clark was an active member and pianist with Eastern Star, a charitable organization in Florence, SC. She loved playing the piano and organ.

Funeral services will be at 12 P.M. Tuesday March 24th, 2015 at Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Florence National Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday March 23rd from 6-8 P.M. at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

Surviving are her children: Peggy (Ray) Crawford, Patsy (David) Welch, and Elizabeth (Tim) Hubbard, 10 grandchildren, & 14 great-grandchildren; a sister Aldean Cassidy, two brothers James Buddy Godwin and Harold Godwin and their families. She is predeceased by a sister Joan Godwin and brother Billy Godwin.
