Edward A. Davis, Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, Mr. Davis spent his last years residing in Florence, South Carolina, where he was cherished by friends and family alike. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Davis served with honor during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he pursued a lifelong passion for aviation. As a dedicated and skilled pilot, he spent countless hours in the sky, both professionally and personally. His love of flight extended beyond the cockpit – he was also an accomplished airplane builder and yachtsman.
Mr. Davis will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his deep sense of patriotism, and his adventurous spirit. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose presence brought strength, wisdom, and warmth to all who knew him.
Mr. Davis is survived by his devoted wife, Jill Brooks Davis; his son, Edward A. Davis III, and wife Danya; daughters Michelle Montague and husband Doug, and Charlene Pries and husband David. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jonathan Lewis and wife Erin, Brett Lewis and wife Ashley, and Amanda Calhoun and husband Donnie. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Justin Hosford, Dalton Hosford, Brandi Hosford, Kayleigh Pries, Paulina Davis, Stone Lewis, Alex Lewis, Will Lewis, Casey Calhoun and Coleman Calhoun.
Mr. Davis’s life was one of service, adventure, and deep familial love. He will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.
