Edwin White “Tommy” Thomas, III, 77, died Tuesday morning, September 16, 2025, after an illness.
A service celebrating the life of Tommy will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Cross & Crown Lutheran Church in Florence.
Tommy was born in Florence, a son of the late Edwin White Thomas, Jr., and Elaine Lewis Thomas. He was retired from Wellman after 30 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church in Florence.
He is survived by his wife, Vonnie Thomas, of the home; a son, Brian Howard Thomas, of Johnson City, TN; three granddaughters, Zoey Clarissa, Meghan Marie and Natali Grace Thomas, all of Johnson City, TN; a nephew, Clint Thomas, and a niece, Bethany Thomas, both of Florence. He was predeceased by his brother, David Randolph Thomas.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregivers, Latrice, Amani, and Diamond; and also to McLeod Hospice, especially Shannon Brown.
