Elizabeth Mendez Ard

FLORENCE Elizabeth Mendez Ard, 52, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, in a local hospital following a brief illness.

She was born July 22, 1961, to her parents Jose Domingo Mendez and Olga Iris Garcia Mendez in Chicago, Illinois. Elizabeth was a member of Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church in Hartsville, SC.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Franklin Ard, of Florence; step-son, Bruce Ard, of Columbia, SC; parents, Jose and Olga Garcia Mendez, of Interlachen, FL; an aunt and uncle, Emily and Hector Sanchez, of Hartsville; and many other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen, FL. Burial will follow in PineView Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Interlachen.
