FLORENCE – Elizabeth Jane Watts Reed, 93, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, after an illness.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. Burial in Florence Memorial Gardens will be at a later date.
She was born in Cool Spring (Horry County), SC, a daughter of the late Franklin Gorham and Ella Jane Mishoe Watts. She graduated from Aynor High School.
Mrs. Reed worked in sales most of her life, selling cloth, sandwiches, lingerie, and cemetery plots for Florence Memorial Gardens. Her love of life and people contributed to her success in sales. She was a member of the West Florence Church of God.
Mrs. Reed was predeceased by her husband, Edward Reed; her daughter, Ella Mae McKnight Ballenger; four brothers, Oscar (Mary) Watts, Fred (Maggie) Watts, Hoyt (Pearline) Watts, and Gene (Bernice) Watts; and a sister, Elnita (Ricky) Vaught.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Barbara) Spears of Darlington; a granddaughter, Whitney Wilkins (Herbie) of Hilton Head, SC; a grandson, Corey Spears, of Los Angeles, CA; and four great-granddaughters, Isabella, Gracen, Olivia, and Eden Wilkins; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
