Febbie Mae Kirven Mellette

FLORENCE - Febbie Mae Kirven Mellette, 85, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in a Florence hospital after an illness.

Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at The Chapel of Bethea Baptist Home with interment following in Florence National Cemetery directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

Mrs. Mellette, wife of the late Charles W. Mellette, was born in Florence County a daughter of the late Harry T. Kirven, Sr. and the late Sadie Middleton Kirven. She was a homemaker and a resident of Bethea Baptist Home, where she also attended church.

Surviving are a sister, Hazel Kirven Roberson of Charlotte, NC; a granddaughter, Sherry Owens Eaddy of Effingham; two great grandchildren, a niece, Harriet R. Pratt of Charlotte; and her caretaker and friend, Becky McCray.
Mrs. Mellette was predeceased by a son, Larry McLaughlin; a daughter, Linda Kay Owens; two brothers, Harry T. Buck Kirven, Jr. and William Frank Billy Kirven; and a sister, Elizabeth K. McKay.
