Gabrielle McCall Guyton

          Gabrielle McCall Guyton-Harrelson passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026 after an extended illness. Gaby was born on March 10,1947, to Dr. Eugene Daniel Guyton Sr. and Eloise McCall Guyton in Florence, SC. She is a 1964 graduate of McClenaghan High School and a 1968 graduate of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. Gaby’s professional career was broad and included teaching in Athens and Atlanta, GA, being a marketing representative at First National Bank of Atlanta, and an illustrious 30-year career with several roles at Bellsouth/AT&T where she retired in 2003. Later in her life, Gaby served as a Patient Representative at McLeod Regional.

          Gaby was always committed to her dear family, friends, community, and church. She was an active member of St. John’s Anglican Church, and a former member of Florence Country Club, and All Saints’ Anglican Church, where she served on vestry and chaired the Board of Directors of All Saints Episcopal Day School. She served her community as a member of Junior Achievement, the Junior League and the McLeod Angels. She was a member of a number of social organizations including The Assembly, Terpisichorean, Sonatina, and the Balaikan. She loved playing bridge with her bridge clubs.

          An avid reader, gardener, and loving friend and host to all, Gaby enjoyed spending time at her family beach house, Spare Time, in Garden City, SC, and loved sharing her home and graciously hosting family and friends. She especially cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and lifelong college friends.

         Gaby is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Olin Harrelson, Sr. and her son - the true joy of her life, Leslie Michell Johnson, Jr, (Meredith) of Greenville, SC, and her children Kimberly Claire Harrelson-Pattishall (David), of Surf City, NC and Ronald Olin Harrelson, Jr. of Manning, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Samantha Harrelson Powell (Chad), Skyler Claire Davidson, Phoebe Elizabeth Davidson, Harriet Elizabeth Johnson, and Wilkes Mitchell Johnson. Gaby is also survived by her brother and sisters: Dr. Dan Guyton (Susan), Dr. Edi Guyton, Elizabeth Campbell (Jay), and Dr. Amanda Drosieko (Jay), as well as a number of beloved nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she loved as her own.

         To honor her, a memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 15, at St John’s Anglican Church, 252 S. Dargan Street, Florence, SC. The family will receive friends after the service in the church Fellowship Hall, and otherwise at their home.

         A special thank you to the care and compassion that was bestowed upon her by the staff of McLeod Hospice.
