FLORENCE – Gayle Bone Calhoun, 60, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at her residence after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home, and other times at the home of Vicky and Wayne Lynch, 152 McLaughlin Road, Effingham, SC.
She was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of Frank and Jannie Mae Taylor. She was predeceased by her biological father, James Bone, and a sister, Frankie Taylor.
Mrs. Calhoun was a member of Parkwood Presbyterian Church in Florence, and was a homemaker.
Survivors, in addition to her parents of Effingham, include her husband, Carlis Calhoun of the home; a daughter, Heather (John) Lee of Latta; two sons, Donnie (Amanda) Calhoun of Longs, SC, and Ronnie (Ashley) Calhoun of Florence; four sisters, Vicky Bone (Wayne) Lynch of Effingham, Robin B. Broad of Columbia, Janice Thompson and Jamie (Ben) Strickland, both of Florence; four grandchildren; and special friend, Brenda Haynes.
