KINGSTREE – Gene Pullen Jeffers, age 97, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, after a long illness.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
She was born in Florence, SC, the only child of the late Kenneth Raynor and Ella Cox Pullen. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Academy in Washington, DC, and Coker College in Hartsville, SC, with a degree in business administration. She was retired from the United States Postal Service.
A life-long resident of Florence, Mrs. Jeffers was a long-time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Jimmy McNair Sunday School Class.
She was predeceased by her husband, John James Jeffers, Sr.; infant son, Gene Kirkland Jeffers; and two adult sons, John J. Jeffers, Jr., and Richard Kenneth Jeffers.
Surviving are three granddaughters, Ashley Jeffers of Kingstree, SC, Laurel Jeffers Green (Ryan) of Union, KY, and Jordan Jeffers Stephenson (Austin) of Florence, SC; their mother, Pamela Knight Jeffers, of Florence; and four great-grandchildren, Ella Claire and Hannah Brooks Green (Union, KY), and Kelsey and Jaxon Jeffers (Kingstree, SC).
