Hallie Kay Hewitt

FLORENCE - Hallie Kay Hewitt, 64, of Florence, SC, passed away with many loved ones by her side on Monday, July 21, 2014. Kay was the daughter of Mrs. Hallie T. Hewitt. She is survived by her brothers, Charlie F. Hewitt (spouse, Johnnie Hewitt) and Reuben E. Hewitt, Sr. (spouse, Carol Hewitt), as well as her two nieces and two nephews: Angela Prosser, Gina Love, Chuck Hewitt and Reuben Hewitt.

Kay had a passion for helping others and also leaves behind many loving friends, as well as young people whose lives she impacted that she cared for and called her own. She will always be remembered by many as Aunt Kay or Momma Kay. Her compassionate, loving, generous spirit and bright smile will surely be missed. She will always remain in the hearts and memories of those that loved her.

Because Kay loved her four-legged friends so much, the family is asking that anyone wishing to remember her in a special way please consider a memorial to the Florence Area Humane Society, P. O. Box 4808, Florence, SC 29502.

A visitation service will be held on Thursday, July 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Waters-Powell Funeral Home, 400 S. Dargan St., Florence, SC.
