Helen Steagall Shaw

FLORENCE Helen Steagall Shaw, age 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on February 25, 2015, at Carolinas Hospital System. She was born on August 31, 1925 to the late William P. and Ada Steagall. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shaw, and her sisters, Margaret Poston and Ruby Galloway, and a brother, Paul Steagall.

She is survived by her three sons, Paul (Cindy) of Martin, GA, David (Audrey) of Sumter, SC, and Bobby of Mandeville, LA. She has five grandchildren, Ashley, Brian, Matthew, Caroline, and Anne-Davis, and four great-grandchildren.

She retired from the Florence City Police Department. When she was in good health, she was a member of Eastern Star and reached the status of Worthy Matron.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church with interment following in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern Star or St. Paul United Methodist Church.
