FLORENCE – Heyward Larry Langley, 69, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Evergreen Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
Mr. Langley was born in Florence County, SC, a son of the late Louie Randolph and Milda Lanning Langley. He was an engineer with ESAB until his retirement.
Mr. Langley was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church for 32 years, where he was a deacon for two terms and served as Chairman of the Deacons. He also taught Sunday School.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Von Langley, of the home; sons, Dr. Gregory Heyward Langley of San Diego, CA, Brian Devin Langley and Joe McCall, both of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Rachel (Jim) Harshaw of Chapel Hill, NC, Linda (Charles) Cox of Asheville, NC, and Vivian Johnson of Hartsville, SC; two brothers, Donald (Queen) Langley and Neron (Kathy) Langley, both of Johnsonville, SC; and three grandchildren, Eli Joseph Langley, Evin Heyward Langley, and Seth Gregory Langley, all of Greenville.
