FLORENCE - Jeanne Moore Stephens, 95, died Saturday, October 25, 2025, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the mausoleum chapel.
She was born in Florence, a daughter of the late Ralph Hill and Vera Estelle Boylston Moore. She graduated from Florence High School. Mrs. Stephens worked in the accounting department at Francis Marion College for 23 years until her retirement in 1992.
She was a life-long member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was involved in women’s Circle groups, Sunday School, and Meals on Wheels. She also volunteered in the administrative office at the church after her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Charles Wesley Stephens, she was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Hill Moore, Jr. and Douglas Boylston Moore; and a sister, Dorothy Moore Gilbert.
She is survived by her son, Charles Wesley Stephens, Jr. (Debby) of Florence; her daughter, Cathy Stephens Lyles (Hank) of Darlington; a brother, Bernard Moore of Garden City, SC; two grandchildren, Hannah Lyles Page (Michael) of Florence and Harrison Luke Lyles (Jessie) of Sardis, SC; and five great-grandchildren, Holden Rivers Page, Henry Shuler Page, Harrison James Lyles, Jack Floyd Lyles, and Emmi Kate Jeanne Page.
