Petty Officer 1st Class Jerry Wayne Warren, born December 23, 1946, in Florence, SC, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Darlington, SC. A dedicated Navy veteran, he served 21 years as a boiler technician, beginning his service aboard the USS Aggressive MSO 422 out of San Diego, CA. After retiring, he settled in Pensacola, FL, where he and his wife, Susan Warren, raised their two children, Robin Warren and Jerry Warren.
Jerry attended McClenaghan High School and was a lifelong fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He was a member of Gospel Temple Worship Center in Florence, SC, under Paster Anthony Cole. He cherished time with family, beach trips, church, and cruising in his beloved El Camino, often sunbathing in its bed with his shoes on.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Coley Sr., and Lotty Warren; sister, Joyce Jones; step-mother, Hazel Warren; step-brother, Don Horne; and wife, Shirley Warren. He is survived by his children, Robin M. Warren of Pensacola, FL, and Jerry J. Warren (Joseph H. Abbott, Jr.,) of New Orleans, LA; and brother, Coley Warren Jr. of Florence, SC.
A graveside service, arranged through Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence, SC, will take place at Hicks Chapel Cemetery in Coward, SC, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
