FLORENCE Judith Yarborough Young, 77, died Saturday, November 28, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at Unity Baptist Church in Florence, followed by interment in Florence National Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
She was born in Florence, a daughter of the late T. J. and Daisy Yarborough. She was a Senior Marshall and graduated from McClenaghan High School in 1956. She was an active member of Unity Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and served on many committees for over forty years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Johnnie Hampton Young, Jr.; three sons, Dr. Richard Hampton Young (Melody), Johnnie Kevin Young (Robin), and Micah Talmadge Young (Christy); sisters, Laura Y. Bazen (Leanue), Faye Y. Hutchinson, Juanita Y. Evans, and Vivian Y. Carnell; two brothers, Maxie Yarborough (Mary Lynn) and Theron Yarborough (Pert); five grandchildren, McKenzie Carson Young, Taylor Elaine Young, Rachel Ward Young, Carla Elizabeth Campbell, and Thomas Hampton Young; and great-grandson, Easton Wakley Powell.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Y. Thomas.
Memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church Scholarship Fund, 2990 Pamplico Hwy., Florence, SC 29505.
