Karen Poston Weatherford

       DARLINGTON – Karen Poston Weatherford, 68, died Saturday morning, March 14, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

       A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Prosser Cemetery in Pamplico.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home in Florence.

       She was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late James Monroe and Iva Lee Poston.  She graduated from West Florence High School and attended Florence-Darlington Technical College.  Karen worked with Pee Dee Electric Co-op for almost 42 years.  She retired in 2018 as Vice-President of Human Resources.

       She was a member of First Church of God in Darlington.

       In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Ken Weatherford; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Myra Poston; and her brother, Randy Poston.

       She is survived by her loving daughter, Kelly W. Lloyd, of Darlington; granddaughter, Paisley Lloyd and grandson, Colt Lloyd; sister-in-law, Elaine Poston; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Faye Munn; and many special nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by many special friends who became family.
