Kathleen Minnick Schwietering

FLORENCE Kathleen Kathy Minnick Schwietering, 66, died Monday, February 8, 2016, after an illness.

A funeral mass will be said at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence. A wake service will be at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home and the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m.

Kathy was born in Buffalo, New York, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Minnick. She earned an accounting degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Kathy was an executive assistant at Roche-Carolina until her retirement.

She was a devoted parishioner at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Kelly Marie Schwietering of Florence; two sisters, Jody Minnick of Virginia Beach, VA, and Susie Fuhrman of Freeport, PA; and a granddaughter, Hayden Bryn Schwietering of Florence.

Wake service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2016, with family visitation following until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
