Kathryn McLaughlin Anderson

          FLORENCE – Kathryn Lanier McLaughlin Anderson, 81, died Thursday, August 22, 2024, after an illness.

          Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Mary Alice Ingram Chapel at The Manor in Florence.  Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

          Kathy was born in Florence, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Gordon Carroll and Ann Meadors McLaughlin.   She was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church.  Kathy had been a resident of The Manor for more than 22 years.

          She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Marion Anderson; her daughter, Sherry A. Edmonds; and a grandson, Michael Edmonds.

          Survivors include her son, John Meadors Anderson; two grandchildren, John M. Anderson (Brittany), and Nikki Anderson; six great-grandchildren; cousins, Rick Donald (Merrilee), Cindy A. Shaw (Paul), Peggy A. Herndon (Jim), and devoted cousin, David Alderman (Ronda).

          The family expresses special thanks and appreciation to the staff of The Manor for the extraordinary care and compassion she was shown during her years as a resident.
