Larry Leon Allen

EFFINGHAM - Larry Leon Allen, 61, died Friday, February 5, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the church prior to the funeral.

Mr. Allen was born in Florence, a son of the late Chalmos Logan and Gracie Hudson Allen. He served his country in the United States Navy and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Florence County for a number of years. Mr. Allen was a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Ann Marlowe Allen, of the home; two sons, Barry (Vickie) Allen of Effingham and Christopher (Toni) Allen of Florence; five grandchildren, Dylan, Jordan, Christian, Samantha, and Noah; four brothers, Jackie (Cheryl) Allen, Phil (Debbie) Allen, C.L. (Joyce) Allen, and Ray Spires; and a sister, Nancy Eaddy.

He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Allen Broach.
