FLORENCE Maggie Gamble Campbell, 96, died Monday, December 1, 2014, in McLeod Hospice House after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home and following services at The Carolinian.
Born in Greeleyville, SC, she was the youngest daughter and last surviving child of Joseph White and Emma Louise Browder Gamble. Mrs. Campbell was retired from McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence, and the Faithful Helpers Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by her husband, Furman Campbell; a son, James W. Campbell; a daughter-in-law, Linda Kelly Campbell; and a son-in-law, Gene Lessmeister.
Survivors include two daughters, Sara (Talmadge) Baker of Asheboro, NC, and Carolyn Tootsie Lessmeister of Florence; two sons, Bernie Campbell and Thomas C. (Barbara) Campbell, both of Florence; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
