Martha Outlaw Obituary

FLORENCE God gained another angel on Thursday. Martha Anne Campbell Outlaw, 73, of Florence, passed away on October 22, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was only diagnosed in July of this year.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015, at her home at 1601 Third Loop Road, Florence, SC 29505. Waters-Powell Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Martha was born in Florence, on April 11, 1942, a daughter of the late William A. and Sarah Hewitt Campbell. She graduated from McClenaghan High School and earned her nursing degree, specializing in psychiatric nursing, from South Carolina Nursing School in Columbia on SCDMH Campus.

Martha was married to Wilson T. Outlaw, Jr., on November 28, 1964; they were married 35 years before he passed away March 1, 1999.

She worked as a psychiatric nurse for SC Department of Mental Health with adolescents inpatient care, adults outpatient care, and later administered the Towards Local Care program for chronically mentally ill adults until she retired in 2007 after 28 years of service.

She enjoyed loving and spoiling her grandchildren and visiting the beach at Cherry Grove. She was also actively involved in the Humane Society, Hospice, March of Dimes and her daughters not-for-profit counseling facility for children using equine assisted therapy at Outlaws Vision Quest Farm.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Tina Outlaw; son, Trey Outlaw; grandchildren, Anna Grace Outlaw-Kennett, Wil Outlaw, Justin Kennett, Ashley Hubble, and Kaitlyn Kennett; sisters, Nancy McQueeny and Peggy Campbell (Dale Worsham); brother-in-law, Ronnie (Kathy) Outlaw; sisters-in-law, Pat (George) McGee and Brenda Shaw; nieces and nephews, William (Angie) Campbell, Theresa (Darrel) Jackson, Paul (Rachel) Campbell, Elizabeth Myers, Johnny (Zoe) Shaw, Alan (MK) Shaw, and Chase McQueeny; as well as extended family members and countless friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her father- and mother-in-law, Wilson Outlaw Sr. and Angela Outlaw; sister, Joyce Campbell; brothers, Pepper Campbell and Billy Campbell; brother-in-law, John Shaw; grandmother, Lillian Hewitt; and grandmother-in-law, Verdra Killen.
