Mary S. Saleeby

FLORENCE - Mary S. Saleeby, 86, of Florence, passed away Monday, January 4, 2015 after an illness.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM., Thursday, January 7, 2015 at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the funeral home.

She was born on December 31, 1929 in Florence, SC and was the daughter of the late Sam and Ludia Saleeby. She lived in Florence all her life and was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant for many years. Mary was a devoted daughter and a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She loved everyone and was loved by everyone who knew her. She attended Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, Nicholas Saleeby of Florence, SC, Albert Saleeby of Conway, SC; Eli Saleeby of Florence, SC; and a brother-in-law, Alexander M. Stanton of Florence, SC.

She is survived by her sister, Vera S. Stanton of Florence, SC; two nephews, Alexander (Sue) Stanton, Jr. of Dana Point, CA and Sam (Ellen) Stanton of Vienna, VA; a niece, Melinda (George) Saleeby of Florence, SC; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1021 South Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501 or a charity of ones choice.

The family expresses special gratitude to the nurses and staff at Heritage Home of Florence for their loving and excellent care of Miss Saleeby and support to her family.
