FLORENCE Mary Sue Legrand Watts was born on October 7, 1939, to John Edward and Eula Peavey Legrand. She attended Ashwood Central School in Ashwood, SC, as well as Winyah High School in Georgetown, SC, from which she graduated in 1957. She married William Rufus Watts, Jr. (Bill), on July 26, 1959. Marys love for children led her to teach preschool at both Northgate and Greenwood Baptist Churches, and to serve as an aide at Royall Elementary School in the Special Needs department. Later in her life, she worked in the advertising department at Aluminum Ladder in Florence. For many years, she was a member of the Eta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. After many years of faithful service and beautiful memories, she departed from this Earth on November 23, 2015, to sit at the feet of her Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Rufus Watts Jr., and four brothers, John Edward Legrand, Jr., Clarence Clifton Legrand, Marion Lynwood Legrand, and Thomas Alan Legrand.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, William Rufus Watts, III (Tammy), Eula W. Foxworth (Steve), David Watts (Debbie), and Russell Watts (Donna); grandchildren, Lee Watts, Laura Lea Rand (Bernard), Jennifer Boswell (Jason), and Nicki Cates (Ron); great-grandchildren, Noah, Tyler, Ashton, Arden, Emmy, Olivia Kate, and Nelson; siblings, Talmadge More Legrand, Sarah Grace Partain, Hester Dorothy Smith, and Pamela Jean Rembert. In addition to these loved ones, she leaves behind heart children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren too numerous to name, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and very special friends.
