FLORENCE – Matthew Todd Moseley, age 57, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church in Florence. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.
He was born in Camden, SC, a son of Kathryn Harriet Reid and Robert James Moseley. He graduated from Francis Marion University and was employed with FedEx for over 20 years.
If Todd Moseley wasn’t your favorite person, you just had not met him yet. He was and is the brightest light in the room. He was the most encouraging man you would ever meet. He always had a smile, he never met a stranger, and fully embraced life in a way that made people gravitate toward him; maybe it was his big stature, but we know it was his big heart. It was truly evident in the way he lived his life, that he loved the Lord more than anything, and his family was everything to him. He could make you smile when you were sad, laugh when you were angry, and forget that sometimes the world wasn’t fair. The world really is a better place because Todd lived here.
My Husband: My nickname for Todd was honeypie. He was dedicated beyond measure, always quick to compliment every little thing that was done in the home, for the family, or for him. He was the kind of husband you could go on a big adventure with, or just sit quietly and enjoy each other’s company without saying a word. He was my protector, and I never felt safer than when he was nearby. He was my best friend and my true companion, and I know I will see him again someday and embrace him again like it was our first kiss. I miss you, honeypie.
Our Dad: Daddy is irreplaceable. There is truly no man like him. He is the funniest guy, and we know if he were here, he would be making jokes nonstop. He taught us how to love with a real love, to be fair, to stand beside each other, and to stand up for what is right even when it is hard. We are better people because he raised us with his head, with his heart, and anything he had in him. He was always there for us, and we know he still is. He dropped everything, for us to be his everything. He was the person you could call at any time and he would be there to save the day, help in any way, or just be there. There aren’t the right words that could fully encompass the dad he was to us, but we will spend our whole lives honoring who he truly was and what he stood for.
A Friend: If you were blessed enough to have Todd in your life in any capacity, you know the man he was and that his legacy will live on forever. A friend reached out to say this, and we believe this is true for all of Todd’s friends: “Todd was a much better friend to me, than I was to him. He was always so kind to me and at times was my biggest cheerleader in life.” That is who Todd is- a best friend, the best husband, the best father, and the best man.
