Michael Tyler Hunsucker

FLORENCE Michael Tyler Hunsucker, 22, of Florence, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013, at a local hospital after an illness.

Mr. Hunsucker was born in Florence, a son of Gary Russell Hunsucker and Lisa Ann Johnson Hunsucker. He was a member of Big Brothers, a Sergeant with the Explorer Program of the Florence Police Department and a mechanic at Palmetto Nissan. Mr. Hunsucker loved working on cars, spending time with his kids and family and making people laugh. He never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Ray Johnson, John Hunsucker and Betty Lou Hunsucker Porter.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Elizabeth Poston; father, Gary Russell Hunsucker; mother, Lisa Ann Johnson Hunsucker and her fiance Randall; children, Alaya Poston and Daniel Tyler Hunsucker; grandmother, Jacqueline Johnson; great-grandmother, Doris Weatherford; brothers, Brooks Hunsucker and Gary Russell Hunsucker, Jr.; sister, Ginger Poston and her fiance Robin Smith; father and mother-in-law, Tommy and Kathy Poston; brother-in-law, Tobie Poston; nieces, Kassy Hunsucker and Grace Dixon; aunts, Debbie Johnson Poston and Tammy Renee Hunsucker; uncle, Bobby M. Johnson; and great-aunt, Jo Ann Cobb.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Mizpah Baptist Church. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, in Cool Springs Methodist Church Cemetery, 3051 Highway 319, Aynor, SC, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home; and friends and family are welcome to visit the home at 4556 E. Old Marion Highway, Florence, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
