Nancy Marie Galloway

         LYNCHBURG  - Nancy Marie Blanchard Galloway, 82, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.

         A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Florence.

         She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Margaret Ann Thomas Blanchard.  She graduated from Wilton (Iowa) High School.  She was employed as a trainer with Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Champus) in Florence, and also worked with Pearce & Pearce, Inc. for a number of years.  Mrs. Galloway was a former mayor of Lynchburg, SC.  She attended Sounds of Victory Holiness Church.

         She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Tracy M. Galloway; her sister, Toni R. (and husband, Verle) Cole; two brothers, Charles L. (and wife, Peggy) Blanchard and Barry Blanchard; two sisters-in-law, Ann Blanchard and Diana Blanchard; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Olivia King.

         She is survived by three sons, Tracy A. (Glenda) Galloway of Florence, Kevin L. (Pam) Galloway of Effingham, and Christopher  (Amy) Galloway of Lynchburg, SC; six grandchildren, Tracy Donald “Donnie” Galloway of Darlington, Tearra Galloway Jordan of Florence, Jessica Galloway (John, Sr.) King of Columbia, Kevin Lee Galloway, Jr. of Barnwell, SC, Sarah Christen Galloway and Christopher Allen Galloway, both of Lynchburg, SC; six great-grandchildren, Bentley Anderson Jordan, John William King Jr., Jacob Wesley King, Jordan Galloway, Noah Galloway, and Logan Galloway; three sisters, Lenore (Don) Schlimmer of Coralville, IA, Margaret (Keith) Miles of Muscatine, IA, and Teresa (Clarence) Blanchard of Wilton, IA; and four brothers, Tom Blanchard of Greeley, CO, Paul (Teresa) Blanchard of Lone Tree, IA, Mike Blanchard of Muscatine, IA, and Robert Blanchard of Davenport, IA.
