Nancy Nichols Matney

FLORENCE , SC Nancy Nichols Matney, 68, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, in a local hospital after an illness.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2013, in Mount Hope Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

She was born in Rocky Mount, NC, a daughter of the late William Thomas Bill Nichols and Lillie Taylor Nichols. Along with her late husband, George Nicholas Matney, she was the owner and business administrator of Matney TV in Florence, SC. She also worked with Florence Visiting Nurses for ten years.

Mrs. Matney was a member of St. Johns Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Matney (Khalil) Abou Dakka of Toledo, OH; a son, Chris Matney of Lugoff, SC; two sisters, Janice Hines of Rocky Mount, NC, and Marlene (Gerald) Bailey of Wilmington, NC; and five grandchildren, Morgan Matney and Ryan Matney, both of Florence, and Alia, Ali, and Amira Abou Dakka, all of Toledo, OH.
