Nell Springs Carr

COWARD Nell Springs Carr, 91, of Coward, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2015, in Florence Memorial Gardens Chapel with entombment following in the mausoleum, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, at the mausoleum chapel.

Mrs. Carr was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Frieson and Vermell Lee Springs. She was the widow of Rubert Carr, Jr. She was a homemaker and attended the Coward Church of God.

Survivors include her son, Barry D. (Lynn) Carr of Coward; two grandchildren, John David Carr of Florence and Jennifer Carr (William) Dillon of Effingham; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Luke Dillon, both of Effingham. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Florence Rehab & Nursing Center and McLeod Hospice House for their compassionate care of Mrs. Carr.
