Oraneta Altman Campbell

FLORENCE Oraneta Altman Neta Campbell, 88, died Monday, October 13, 2014, at her residence after an illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16, 2014, in Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service.

She was born in Gresham, SC, a daughter of the late William Samuel and Rilla Hanna Altman. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the first graduating class from McLeod School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse with the Florence County Health Department until her retirement. She then worked in the office of Drs. Owen and Adams for several years. She was also a member and past president of the State Nursing Board.

Mrs. Campbell was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Elizabeth Campbell Betsy (Benjamin) Mills of Florence; two great-grandchildren, Brice Edward Fuleihan and Campbell Elizabeth Mills; a special friend, Shirley Norton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her son, William Edward Campbell.
