FLORENCE - Peggy June Whitehead Urquhart died 13 December 2015 at Brookdale Senior Living, Florence, SC. She was born 23 June 1932 in Elm City, NC, the daughter of William and Rhoda Whitehead. She came to Florence in 1959 with her husband Rod Urquhart & was employed by South Carolina National Bank for 17 years, served as financial manager for Urquhart Plumbing & later worked at The Learning Center of Bruce Hospital.


Mrs. Urquhart was a member of Parkwood Presbyterian Church, Green Thumb Garden Club, Eastern Star, Lenora Chapter # 30 & was a Master Gardener.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Laurel Ann.

She is survived by three sons, Roderick Dawes Urquhart (Christine), Jonathan Ted Urquhart (Brenda), and Thomas Kevin Urquhart (Michelle) all of Florence. Her grandchildren are Derick Urquhart (Amy), Brian Urquhart (Celia), Brooks Urquhart (Stephanie), Travis Urquhart (Joni), Tyler Urquhart (Lauren), Melanie McDonald (Jared), Madeline Urquhart, Miranda Urquhart, Makayla Lawrence & Will Lawrence. She is also survived by a brother, Randolph Whitehead of Wilson, NC & great grandchildren Wills, Cate, Abi, Anna Carsyn, Paisley, & Alaina.



Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, 16 December, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home followed immediately by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
