FLORENCE Phillip Lawrence Franklin, 52, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, after an illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Phillip was born in Florence, a son of Jewel Windham Franklin and the late Leonard Samuel Franklin. He was a tile setter and a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother of Florence, include two brothers, James (Bonnie) Franklin of Florence and Samuel Dean Franklin of Roanoke, VA; a sister, Cathy Franklin of Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, a brother, Donald Franklin of Roanoke; and his grandparents, Norma and J. L. Windham of Florence and Myrtle and Wallace Franklin of Virginia.
