Richard Neil Bennett

LAKE CITY Richard Neil Bennett, 67, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House after an illness.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, at Camp Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery in Scranton, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home of Florence. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

He was born in Scranton, South Carolina, a son of the late Alfonzo and Irene Matthews Bennett. He was self-employed as a timber buyer for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Powell Bennett, his daughter, Michelle Bennett, and son, Richard Neil Bennett, Jr. (Carol), all of Lake City; two sisters, Tamra Rhodes (Bill) of Scranton, and Kimberly Anderson (Greg) of Warner Robbins, GA; a brother, Christopher Bennett (Donna) of Friendfield; and a grandson, Benjamin Samson Bennett, also of Lake City.
