Robert Forest Freeman

FLORENCE Robert F. Freeman, 77, died on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, SC. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, at Central United Methodist Church, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

Bob was born in Orlando, FL, to James and Winifred Freeman. He married his high school sweetheart Ann. After training under his father, Ann and Bob opened Freemans Bakery in Florence in 1964. He was certified Master Baker and served on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern Retail Bakers Association. After retiring from the bakery in 2000, Bob worked as a consultant and salesman for Pillsbury and Pfeil and Holing. He was also known for his work mentoring young people and coaching youth sports.

Bob is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann; his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Tammy Freeman; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Mike Sparks; seven grandchildren: Cameron Sparks, Jacelyn Sparks, Freeman Sparks, Katy Freeman, Ross Handy, Ricky Handy and Jordan Handy; and sisters Carolyn (Glenn) Liner and Frances (Jim) Stokes.
