Robert Merrell Lancaster

          FLORENCE – Robert Merrell Lancaster, 54, died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, after an illness.

          He was born in Florence, SC, a son of Robert R. Lancaster and the late Margaret Meggs Lancaster.  Robert graduated from West Florence High School and was a general manager with Advance Auto Parts for more than 10 years.

          Survivors include his son, William J. Lancaster, of Florence; his father, Robert R. Lancaster of Effingham; two sisters, Martha VanHouten (Matthew) of Florence and Mary McMillan (Maxie) of Effingham; a brother, Mark Lancaster (Tiffany) of Florence; and uncle, Tommy Meggs, of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews.

          The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.  A graveside service at Florence Memorial Gardens will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
