Robert Bruce Shamblin

FLORENCE – Robert Bruce Shamblin, age 61, left this world on the early morning of March 24, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Scarlett Howle Shamblin, and their six dogs: Jake, Chip, Sara, Trixie, Ringo and Penny. If they could talk, they would tell you there was never a better master. There was never a better man, husband, son, uncle, brother, son-in-law or friend. He lived for serving others, no matter the cost. He was a lover of music and played the mandolin. He loved the Great Smoky Mountains. He loved the Outer Banks of NC. He loved a man named Jesus and knew he was saved by grace. He loved his wife.

He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Spradlin Shamblin. He is survived by his father, Austin Lee Shamblin of Maryville, Tennessee; a brother, Steve Shamblin (Denise) of Hawaii; a sister, Nancy Shamblin West (Mike) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Allison Howle and Emily Howle Jordan, mother –in-law, Polly Howle, all of Florence, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved and adored.

He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and an employee of Duke Energy.

Rob was passionate about dogs, especially Golden Retrievers and Labradors. He was also passionate about feeding and clothing the ones who could not feed or clothe themselves.
