Robert Earl Whitney, Sr.

          FLORENCE - Robert Earl Whitney, Sr., age 81, passed away on October 5, 2024.  He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Robert was born on September 14, 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island.  Bob was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

          Bob was a devoted father.  He loved spending time with his children, sharing stories, playing games, and share his love of reading.

          In his free time, Bob enjoyed birding, wood working and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for various causes and organizations.

          Bob is survived by his loving wife, Andre; his children, Robbie and Kathy; and his grandchildren, Wolf, Iushko, Mary Kathryn and Palmer.  His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

          Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
