Robin Neal Campbell

WARD, SC Dr. Robin Neal Campbell, age 77, of Ward, SC, passed away April 27, 2016. He was born April 21, 1939 in Florence, SC. As a young man he attended the University of South Carolina. He later received a doctorate of Theology and PhD in education.

In 1956, he joined the U.S Navy, and served in Vietnam, aboard the U.S.S. Bonham Richard until 1962. Dr. Campbell met his wife Mrs. Jemmie Loveless Campbell of McCormick, SC. They were married April 25, 1964, and celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary while Dr. Campbell was in the VA hospital in Charleston, SC.

Dr. Campbell and his family are known internationally as missionaries, serving a total of 40 years. They served in the US and Mexico as church planters, with an emphasis on Evangelism and Spanish ministries. Dr. Campbell was also an accomplished artist, sculptor, pastor, speaker, private pilot, and an acclaimed author.

Dr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Jemmie Campbell of Ward, SC; daughter Elizabeth Nottingham and family of Augusta, GA; three sons, Peter Campbell and family of Martin, GA, John Campbell and family of Vandalia, OH, and Andrew Campbell and family of Resaca, GA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Neal Claude Campbell and Mattie Johnson Campbell; sisters Elanor Campbell and Claudia Rector; brothers Rev. Laphon Campbell and Richard Campbell.

The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, and Celebration of Life services will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Waters-Powell Funeral Home of Florence, SC. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to missions.
