Ron Edmund

          William Ronald “Ron” Edmund of Florence, SC, was promoted to heaven on July 10, 2024, at the age of 76.  He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

          Born on November 6, 1947, Ron grew up in West Columbia, SC, and graduated from Airport High School.  He was a hard-working modest man who drove a truck for Spartan Express and Estes Express Lines.  He retired from Estes Express Lines after almost 40 years behind the wheel of a big rig.  During his retirement he enjoyed watching Braves games and doing yard work.

          Ron is preceded in death by his parents, William G. Edmund and Helen Areheart Edmund of West Columbia, SC; and the true love of his live, Evelyn Sanderson, with whom he was married for almost 20 years.  He is survived by his brother, Phillip H. Edmund; his two sons, Billy Ricard (Jo Ann) and Steve Edmund (Amy); his daughter, Patty Jones (Allen); four grandchildren, Ryan Jones (Felicia), Colin Jones, Sydney Edmund, and Kelsey Ricard; and three great-grandchildren, Rowan, Ayla, and Asher Jones.

          A small family graveside service will be held in celebration of Ron’s life.
